5 Basic Winter Wardrobe Essentials

These all make for great capsule wardrobe options as well and most can be worn not only in the winter season but throughout the whole year making them even more versatile.
So, let’s just get into these basic winter wardrobe essentials that everyone needs in their closet!
#1 | Comfy Parka
So I had to start this basic winter wardrobe essentials post off with this coat because I mean come on, how cute is this jacket?!
It is under $60, comes in a bunch of colors, & is oh so comfy. (I am in the color “dark beige”)
You all have been loving it over on my instagram feed & I totally see why! It is basic and a must have yet still super cute & fun to layer with!
This whole outfit in fact is filled with awesome basics! For example, the jeans (which fit true to size, in a 2, if inbetween size up) are a MUST HAVE style.
The jeans are only $22 & are super comfy with the straight leg fit and ripped knee design.
This parka also comes with a detachable fur hood and comes in a cropped jacket style (linked here) as well if that suits you better!
I am in the size small which fits true to size so I recommend to just get whatever size you typically wear in jackets for this one.
#2 | Simple Black Purse
Alright, so a simple black purse is just a great year round staple but I thought this coach bag definitely gives off more fall & winter vibes.
The exact style is out of stock but I found what seems to be their latest model of the same style bag right here. (it just has a few more bells and whistles)
A black purse is always a great basic that can be easily dressed up for a night out on the town, especially with some pretty silver Dreamland Jewelry pieces (an awesome partner of sequins & satin!), or dressed down for a more everyday outfit.
I linked a similar, cheaper, option here however I highly recommend investing in a high quality basic if it is something you think you’ll use frequently.
There are gently used & even new with tags options for way cheaper that you can find on places like ebay if you want high quality at affordable prices!
#3 | Gold Hoop Earrings
So, these earrings are also a year round basic for any season but I just needed to share them with you asap in this basic winter wardrobe essentials post!
Even though these are a basic pair of gold hoop earrings, the geometric design makes them so much more interesting & fun to wear.
Kendra scott is always a great brand for high quality jewelry & these earrings are no exception. (you can shop more kendra scott products here)
If gold isn’t your thing, don’t worry (did you really think I would leave you hanging like that! Have some faith😉) because they also come in silver!
They are more of an investment than most pieces I share on here, but for something you can wear with any outfit, they are well worth the $58.
#4 | Poncho
This poncho is a great basic that is perfect to wear casually or more dressy depending on how you want to style it.
The pattern has a cute herringbone print & the poncho comes in 2 different color options, this simple grey or a pinky/red.
I love how you can easily throw this on with jeans and a tee (like I did here) to make the outfit way less basic & warmer!
Ponchos are crazy comfortable & basically make it feel like you’re walking around in a blanket while still looking stylish, try and tell me that isn’t the ultimate combo!
The material is super soft, it is only $65, and is a one size style since it is such an oversized, flowy, fit. (this would make a great gift!)
#5 | Taupe Booties
Onto our final piece of these basic winter wardrobe essentials, these taupe ankle booties! (more about them in this post)
They come in lots more color options but I just went with the simple taupe/light tan option which can be worn with practically any outfit.
The cutout design on the sides is super flattering & the low heel makes them easy to walk in while still giving a little extra height.
